Clear Expectations 701, 702, 707, 708, 709
Dear 701, 702, 707, 708, and 709,
My name is Mr. Marzella. This is my fourth year teaching science at M.S. 181. I am really excited to be your child’s science teacher this year. Students will be required to have one science notebook, or binder with paper, one folder and plenty of pens and pencils.
The majority of their science grade will be based on their classwork, labs, and projects. It is very important that they are present and ready to participate each and everyday. Most of the questions given for homework, during classwork or included in labs/experiments will appear on tests/quizzes. It is in your child’s best interest to keep a neat and organized notebook with their findings to look back upon before a test. Students will receive full credit for homework handed in on time and receive half credit for homework handed in late. All late homework is due by the end of the month that it is was assigned in. Labs/projects that are handed in late will also incur a loss of a point every week it is late.
The science grades will be determined by the following:
Classwork/Participation/Labs/Projects – 60%
Test/Quizzes – 30%
Homework – 10%
All science assignments will be posted on Pupil Path. Please make sure your children are checking the site regularly to stay on top of assignments that are due. I will always let them know in class when a new assignment is posted.
Feel free to contact me at me the school’s phone number: (718) 904-5600. I can also be reached through email at [email protected]
I look forward to working with your children and to a successful school year.
Sincerely,
Matthew Marzella
